We came to see Devan following my 9 year old’s diagnosis of complex regional pain syndrome. Erin had been on crutches for 6 weeks and unable to use her leg, due to her pain being neurological the doctors were limited with treatment options that didn’t cause her further distress and pain. We met with Dévan and he discussed using hypnotherapy as a form of treatment to get her to associate pleasurable feelings in her leg again. Within 2 weeks she was walking and off crutches. I went to Dévan with back problems that were also affecting one leg. He was extremely thorough in determining what the problem was and then progressively dealt with it explaining all the time what he was doing and what the reaction should be. He was very professional and cleared the problem in very few visits and also indicated one or two things that I could do to help long term. I first visited Dévan in late September with a very painful heel. Within a week I had a consultation and scan (very impressed), along with a diagnosis. I started visiting weekly for treatment. Two years ago I suddenly developed back pain, which radiated down my leg, causing numbness in the toes. My doctor referred me for physiotherapy, but a year later I was still experiencing the symptoms. Following a recommendation, I visited Devan and he has treated my condition with osteopathy and acupuncture. As a 70 year old cynic a stiff and painful neck after a cycling injury was never going to be cured by someone poking and prodding…. well how wrong could I have been. I was recommended to go and see Dévan from a friend and as the discomfort was becoming very tiresome I went along. Dévan listened to my problem, explained what he believed to be the issue and discussed the plan to put it right. After the first session I started to feel better and over the following weeks the pain disappeared. I wish to express my gratitude for greatly improving my right shoulder after a skiing collision. I could not raise my arm and was in misery while trying to sleep, I now have full mobility of my arm with only occasional slight stiffness. At sixty five years I plan to return to the slopes next year and expect to do battle with the black runs again. Dévan was recommended to me by a friend, as I had suffered many years of neck pain. I had previously tried Physios, Osteos, chiropractors and acupuncture, which all only seemed to give a slight temporary relief. Was feeling sceptical when I first arrived, but by the third visit to Dévan, using osteopathy and acupuncture, along with exercises, my neck pain was markedly improved and I am currently even pain free, which has not been the case for many years! My daughter took me to see Devan as I was having a problem with my neck. I had been hit from behind in my car but had not associated the neck pain with the RTA. It turns out I had whiplash, which Devan diagnosed and sorted out through manipulation, acupuncture and exercises. I also had unrelated problems with my knee, which he gave me exercises for, which made a big difference to me. I went to see Dévan on the recommendation of a friend, and was so glad I took her advice. I had RSI from my job and knitting, and felt totally awful about life. I came to see Dévan at Natural-Touch following a prolonged period of lower back pain, which suddenly faired up to the point where every day to day normal activity was very painful / impossible. I saw Dévan on a weekly basis (to start with) where he prescribed stretching exercises. The process of getting back to a normal life style has been fairly long (12 months) and I have also underdone facet joint injections as well. I can quite honestly say if it had not been for Dévan I would not be where I am today. He has helped me with not only an exercise regime but also been there to lend an ear from an emotional side as well. I am (now was!) a very nervous skier. The type and steepness of a slope had always frightened me so much that I was finding it difficult to progress. The worse my fears got the slower I wanted to ski, meaning I spent most of my time going too slow to ski properly! I attended 3 sessions of hypnotherapy with Dévan at the Natural Touch Clinic. Dévan helped me to relax and think of positive places and incidences that have happened in my life. He introduced me to techniques for rationalising and controlling my fears, to a point where they (sometimes) even made me laugh out loud – certainly sing! Dévan is a very calming, positive and reassuring person and after each session I left feeling these qualities in myself. On our recent skiing trip I was a completely different skier! More relaxed, skiing much better, attempting runs that I would never have done before and also taking time out to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I would never have done this previously.
